UCRA Red Line Synthetic Oil Awards Luncheon Announced for Saturday, January 16th

1Chattanooga, TN (11/12/20) ---  The United Championship Racing Alliance - UCRA announced today via its web-site (UCRAracing.com) that the 2020 National Points Championship Awards Luncheon will take place Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the Golden Coral Restaurant in Chattanooga at 1808 Gunbarrel Rd near Hamilton Place Mall at 1PM EST. After lunch, nearly $10,000 will be passed out to the top points contenders of 2020’s nine (9), COVID19 pandemic plagued race season. The $5.000 top prize will be going to Cleveland racer Jimmy Elliott whom garnered five Top Five finishes in 2020, narrowly holding off Rookie of the Year ($1,000 bonus recipient) Jason Cardwell of Knoxville, for the championship. Kenny Kizzar of Soddy Daisy, Tn. will be honored as the UCRA second runner up. Kenny’s been a mainstay with the UCRA since its inception in 2015. Alabama's Kasey "The Hurricane" Hall will also be honored. Red Line Synthetic Oil will be representing the UCRA series once again in 2021. The lubricants manufacturer founded in 1979 is a mainstay for "grass-roots" style racing all across America.

Elliott (# J39) leader of the "Mohawk Nation" (aka the Purple Punk) joins Seymour's Rusty Ballenger now as the only two-time champ of the 604/Crate Late Model series. Elliott and his UCRA counterparts wrapped up the season a week ago (Hallows Eve) at Fort Payne Motor Speedway just Southwest of Chattanooga. "When this COVID19 started I really didn't take it too seriously. I was prepared to shutdown our operation, but then we kicked back off at Tazewell", stated Elliott in a phone conversation this week. "I just lost my grandfather Carson Allison to COVID19, so its still in the back of my mind. Anything we do, we are very careful." Elliott had a stout points lead, until one night, mechanical issues donned the "HRS Mechanical, Car Smart Auto Sales, Mighty Muffler and Brake Center, Elliotts Tire Center, Stealth Racing Carburetors, WP Shocks, Dynamic Driveline, Matlock Decal Co, Knowles Race Parts & Bodies" sponsored Longhorn/Phantom Racing Engines raceteam. "It took us some time to recover from Tazewell's failure. We started out great then, things just seemed a little off at the end of Summer. I love travelling and racing different tracks. We've had success at multiple tracks, its much better travelling than going to the same track week in and week out."

Jason Cardwell of Knoxville finished a mere 3-points behind Elliott for the championship, and much less, only one position behind Elliott in the WITCHY 50 season finale for the series. Cardwell thoroughly enjoyed his first season of "points racing" with a series. He's been Limited Late Model racing for 19 years at local tracks but never has won any series' races. Cardwell is a second generation racer (son of Atomic Speedway ace Buster Cardwell), who now has a young son and a nephew (Addison and Hayden) that are going to possibly follow in the #07's footsteps towards another possible $1,000 Rookie of the Year title. Cardwell's "Mighty Muffler and Brake Center, Shorty Shock Service, Matlock Decals, DAK Renovations, West Haven Speed Equipment, Miley Automotive, Raymond and Libby Shepard's Wartburg Speedway" sponsored raceteam garnered a seasons best tying Top 5 quest with Kasey Hall at three (3) runners up finishes each in 2020.

Despite Hall's Top 5 prowess, the #13 "Back the Blue" racer finished behind Kenny Kizzar who again finished as the second runner up in the championship. Kizzar, with his wife Julia, Daniel Grider, Corbin Mcglamery and Kelly Foutch has methodically put their #157 "WE ROCK,  World Extreme Rock Crawling, Schaeffer's Oil, Stealth Carburetors, Don's Foreign Car Repair" sponsored Performance Racing  Engines towards the front at all UCRA races, since the series conception in 2015. Social Distancing measures will be taken in the dining hall at the restaurant as the awards are passed out in the segregated banquet area in the back. Honorees and their guests will be responsible for their dining tabs and gratuities for the staff of the restaurant upon entrance.
