Perry Pounces in UCRA Action
Brasstown, NC (6/10/16) --- The United Crate Racing Alliance, Crate Late Model Championship was held Friday night for the third time and Ringgold, Georgia's Jamie Perry added his name to the winners sheet at the conclusion of the $2,500 to-win event at Ray Cook's facility. Perry's first UCRA victory comes inherited after local racer Jason Deal took the checkered flag leading all 40-laps. Fuel issues disqualified the Copperhill, Tennesseeian handing the victory to the "Cotton's Service Center, Secoa Technology, NiB-One and Mark Heatherly Construction" sponsored Londhorn racer. The race was slowed by four cautions. Sixth-starting Cory Hedgecock pulled off the track prior to the start of the feature, but returned to start from his original position. He piloted fellow Tennesseeian Matt Henderson's car. The Alliance moves to Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Fyffe, Ala., on Saturday, where a $500 bonus (from Tires R' Us and Ray Barksdale Motors) awaits the high points finisher of the two weekend events . Robert Gant of Pisgah, Ala., started 14th and finished seventh picking up the nights Hard Charger award from Performance Masters Inc. (Brian McLeod photo)
