Welshan Takes Talladega Red Line Oil UCRA Victory Saturday

Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN raced his Pontiac Trans Am Firebird into Victory Lane Saturday night at the Talladega Short Track winning the night's 40 lap Bama Duals presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil and the United Championship Racing Alliance series.

The Maryville, Tennesseean (# 01) earned the $2,000 prize over David Kay of Munford, GA in the Hux Motorsports, Competition Racing Equipment / Savage racecar, as the UCRA made their debut at TST with 25 Crate Late Model entrants. Welshan was last victorious in 2019 at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park on the UCRA tour winning the Georgia race last September on Labor Day weekend.

Kasey Hall was third at TST with locals Eli Beets and Cruz Skinner rounding out the Top 5. Friday's winner Jimmy Elliott was 6th overall, with rookie contender Jason Cardwell 9th. Soddy Daisy's Kenny Kizzar finished 11th whilst Jeff Neubert was 16th and Jeremy Holtzclaw was 23rd overall.
